About me
Feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or affected by past experiences? You may be finding it difficult to understand what you’re feeling, cope with everyday life or know what to do next.
I’m Wendy, an accredited person-centred counsellor (NCPS), offering counselling and psychotherapy in Chelmsford, as well as telephone and online counselling across the UK. I provide a calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about what’s been happening for you. Every person is different, so our work together will be guided by your individual needs.
My approach is warm, accepting and compassionate. You don’t need to know exactly what you want from therapy before you begin; we can explore things gently together, at your own pace. I’ll stay alongside you as you begin to understand your thoughts and feelings more clearly, helping you to reconnect with yourself and find a steadier and more compassionate way forward
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, emotional overwhelm and trauma. I have a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced trauma and different forms of grief and loss. I also have experience supporting people who are neurodiverse.
Alongside Person-Centred Therapy, I integrate other approaches to suit you, including Transactional Analysis (TA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The way we work together will depend on you, your experiences and what you need from therapy.
My background includes working as a physiotherapist in the NHS, supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) and social and emotional difficulties in schools, and counselling within a cancer charity. These experiences have shaped my approach to counselling, and my understanding of the different challenges people can face.
If you’re considering therapy, please reach out. You don’t have to navigate this alone. We can explore what you need and whether working together feels right for you. I’m here to support you.
