About me

Do you suffer with anxiety and panic attacks? Have you lost your confidence?

I used to suffer with terrible panic attacks where I thought the world was closing in on me and I couldn’t breathe. I was scared to go to places I was unsure of, I needed an escape route. When things came to a head I sought out help and it changed my life.

Everyone needs someone to speak to now and again. As a counsellor, I will treat you with the respect you deserve, no judgements will be made and I will be open and honest with you. I will help you to explore the things that are causing you distress and help you find coping strategies to move forward.

I work face to face, online and on the telephone. As an integrative counsellor I primarily use the person centred approach but I am able to bring in elements of other theories and use them to benefit the client. All clients are different and therefore need to be worked with in differing ways. CBT is very popular and can bring some amazing results. I have also used EFT and solution focussed therapy with clients. For some, we need to look at the past and therefore looking at their childhood and their attachments helps us to work on the problems together. I work alongside you and am there to support you all of the way to achieve your goals for therapy.

I also am a school counsellor and work with children from the age of 5. I incorporate play therapy and art therapy into these sessions. This is a safe environment for children to be able to explore their feelings and not feel alone.

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and a member of the BACP.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

For face to face clients I rent a room which is very private and has parking right outside. Clients have commented on the fact that it feels like a very safe space.

To be able to accommodate more clients, I have some slots for telephone sessions available some evenings. Please contact me for details.

I make sure that all clients feel safe with me and I do not take offence if I am not the right counsellor for you. The most important thing with finding a counsellor is having someone you can be open and honest with.
