About me
I’m Victoria Penfold, a Psychosynthesis therapist and BACP-registered practitioner. I offer a warm, honest and compassionate space where you don’t have to perform or be “okay”, and we go at your pace, with all parts of you welcome.
You may be managing well on the outside, working, supporting others and getting on with everyday life, while privately something feels more difficult or quietly unsustainable. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or simply aware that something needs to change.
I work with the whole person, not just thoughts or symptoms, but also the patterns and experiences that have shaped you, to understand what is happening beneath the surface. Alongside talking therapy, I draw on an inclusive model that includes nutrition, exercise, practical support and financial wellbeing, ensuring the mind, body and soul are all included in our work together.
For many people, emotional pain doesn’t just live in the mind, it can show up in the body as tension, anxiety, numbness, or feeling constantly on edge. By working with both the mind and body, we can help your system feel calmer, more supported and grounded, creating greater clarity from which we can begin to build a life in line with what you truly want.
I work with individuals from a range of backgrounds navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, attachment wounds, disordered eating, and times of loss or transition. This includes corporate professionals, business owners, founders, and those in the public eye.
My aim is to help you feel more connected, more resilient, and more yourself, held with love, compassion and structure.
Sessions can be in person and online.
Training, qualifications & experience
My practice is informed by Psychosynthesis and draws on transpersonal and integrative thinking, while remaining grounded in your experience and the pace that feels right for you. This means paying attention not only to your emotional world, but also to your body and the everyday things that can help you feel more grounded, from routine and structure to reconnecting with and taking care of your body.
Rather than focusing on one part of you, we look at how your emotional world, your body, your work, relationships and your day-to-day life all interact.
Within therapy, we map out and explore early experiences that still affect how you relate to and communicate with yourself and others today, notice how emotions show up in your body, and look at what helps you feel steadier and more supported in everyday life.
This can include building boundaries, routines, practical structures and regulation tools that help life feel more manageable.
My practice is trauma-informed, warm, relational and fun. Therapy can hold difficult and painful experiences, but it can also be a place of discovery, connection and moments of real joy.
I offer a space where you can explore the patterns and survival strategies that once helped you cope and consider whether they still serve you now.
Together, we focus on building clarity, resilience and a deeper sense of self-trust, so you can move through your life with more confidence and find places where you belong rather than using your energy to fit in.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
The introduction session, whether in person or online, is a 30-minute space to meet, talk, and see if we feel like the right fit for one another.
We can discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and anything you may feel unsure or nervous about.
You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say; we can start wherever you are.
