About me

Life can throw us challenges and at times we may find ourselves struggling to cope, feeling out of control and experiencing emotional distress.

Therapy can offer a space to help you understand your feelings and help to process your thoughts and experiences in a safe, supportive, confidential and non-judgmental space, where you are not alone. Together, we can help address painful feelings, a lack of fulfillment or feelings of stuckness that you may be experiencing. Often our previous ways of being and behaviours that have been useful in the past, no longer serve us in our current lives. By exploring your thoughts about yourself, and your way of relating to others and the world around you, we can often see new perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of ourselves. Therapy can increase our awareness and offer a sense of freedom, acceptance and clarity to find new choices and lead to a more fulfilling life.

The first step in seeking therapy or counselling can be scary, and I can offer a supportive space to explore whatever feelings come up for you, at your own pace. My aim is offer a relaxed space, separate from your daily life, where you can truly be yourself without any judgement or demands on you. Together, we can take the first steps in making changes in your life and allow you to gain more control.

As an integrative therapist, I draw on a number of different theories and approaches to support you in our work together and find the tools that work best for you. I believe the therapeutic relationship is truly co-created and ever-evolving; each client will have different requirements, and throughout our relationship it is important we work collaboratively to meet your current needs, which will inevitably evolve throughout our work together.

My style of working is generally humanistic, relational and client led; I find it useful to consider your previous relationships, especially family dynamics if this feels relevant, as it often allows us to make connections between past and present. My main aim is to offer a warm and relaxed environment to explore your deeper thoughts and feelings in order to live a more fulfilling life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
