About me

Hi, my name is Tasneem, and I’m an integrative psychotherapist specialising in trauma, anxiety, and relationship difficulties.

You might notice yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, overthinking everything, or feeling deeply affected by others even when you try not to be.

You may find yourself feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure why things continue to feel this way. For some, this can show up as a fear of abandonment or needing reassurance, while for others it may feel easier to withdraw or keep a distance.

With over 15 years of experience working within diverse communities, I support individuals in understanding how past experiences, including childhood and generational trauma can continue to impact their thoughts, emotions, and relationships today. Therapy offers a space to gently make sense of this, at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic models including CBT, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Transactional Analysis. I tailor therapy to you as an individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I aim to offer a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore things more deeply, while also beginning to shift patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I also recognise that culture, identity, and faith can play an important role in how we make sense of our experiences. For those who wish, I offer a culturally sensitive and faith-informed approach, creating a space where all parts of you can be acknowledged and respected.

I specialise in supporting individuals who may be experiencing:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and feeling emotionally overwhelmed
  • Trauma, including childhood and generational trauma
  • Relationship difficulties and repeating unhelpful patterns
  • Fear of abandonment or difficulty trusting others
  • Low self-worth and self-criticism
  • Feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected from yourself

My work focuses on helping you understand these patterns in a way that feels clear and manageable, while supporting you to feel more secure within yourself and more balanced in your relationships.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrative Psychotherapy, along with a Postgraduate Diploma and a Bachelor’s degree in related fields. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), and I work in accordance with their ethical frameworks. I am also a trained EMDR practitioner and remain committed to ongoing professional development.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

NCPS
National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
