About me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor, which means that in my practice I combine person centred and psychodynamic approaches, this essentially means that although we are discussing what is happening in your life today at times it may be useful to explore your past and see if there maybe any connection to what is happening in the present.  As a counsellor I provide clients with support within a safe, non-judgmental and empathic space for emotional and psychological exploration and a place to exercise change.
I work together with you to make sense of what is happening in your life, and help you to gain a deeper understanding of reasons that have brought you to counselling.

Perhaps you are curious as why you react a certain way to situations or encounter certain relationships and want to explore why.  Whatever your reason for looking for support now, I would be honoured to be part of your journey. A journey towards self-development, awareness and emotional healing.
I work with individual clients who are experiencing difficult times in their lives. I work with issues such as depression, anxiety, low self-worth, substance misuse.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in charities within the substance misuse sector for 20 years, working with people with multiple disadvantage and understand how important it is for people to be heard and seen.

I am currently working within women only spaces, delivery group work for personal development, self awareness and change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
