About me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I believe we are shaped by our past and present relationships, influencing how we view ourselves, others and our environment. I work in a relational way with clients to explore what it is they find a struggle.

I provide clients with a safe and confidential space to look at their thoughts, feelings, relational patterns and experiences. Together we explore issues from the past that may be affecting their present.

I believe the key to successful therapy is to establish a supportive and collaborative working relationship based on open communication, trust and authenticity. I actively listen to my clients getting to know them, and understand what brings them to therapy, helping them to discover their own answers and their best ways forward.

Many clients come to therapy questioning why what has worked for them in the past no longer works for them now. Together we discover why, enabling clients to gain new understandings and make meaningful long-term change.

I provide professional therapy tailored to clients' individual needs, and support clients as they move toward their goals at a pace that feels comfortable. My approach is warm, authentic, and non-judgmental that considers clients' overall wellbeing in our work together.

As an Integrative therapist I draw upon several evidence based therapeutic approaches to tailor bespoke treatment plans that address the unique lived experiences of individual clients. I use Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural, Narrative and Somatic therapeutic approaches flexibly with a focus on assisting clients to reach their goals and achieve meaningful, long-lasting change.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or simply unsure where to begin, I can help you clarify what you want from therapy and support you in moving toward those goals. Starting therapy is a big step, and finding the right fit matters. If you’re considering therapy or would like to know more about how I work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m happy to offer a brief initial consultation so you can decide whether I’m the right therapist for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Clients often wonder what to expect in first sessions.

In our first session, we will explore the challenges contributing to you seeking therapy. We will talk about the ways in which I may be able to help and work with you. An important part of the first session is also to decide if we both feel we can work together. If we agree to moving forward we will make a plan of what may be best suited for you and this will depend on the nature of what you may be seeking therapy for.

I do not ask clients to commit to a certain number of sessions but this is something we would regularly talk about and review in an open and honest way.

I offer both short and long term therapy sessions both online and in person.

Please contact me (preferably by email in the first instance) for further details or if you would like to arrange an initial free telephone conversation with no obligation to make an appointment.
