About me

Hi, I'm Sofia. I understand how difficult and overwhelming taking that first step can feel- especially when you've been carrying so much on your own. Reaching out isn't easy. My approach is cented on offering you a safe, supportive space to process the emotions you may have been holding for some time, and to gently explore the deeper feelings beneath them. Together, we can work towards helping you move through your challenges and carry yourself in a way that feels authentic and true to who you are.

I am a licensed therapist and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with five years experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds. We all face struggles at different points in our lives. I believe therapy is a unique and trusting space where you can begin to understand yourself more clearly, reconnect with your strengths, and grow into your authentic self.

I offer in-person therapy in Manchester City Centre, as well as online sessions nationwide for those who would prefer the comfort and flexibility of being at home.

How I work:

My experience supporting clients across a range of mental health difficulties, alongside my integrative approach to therapy, allows me to create a compassionate and collaborative space tailored to your individual needs. I do note believe in a 'one-size-fits-all' approach. Your story, experiences, and goals are unique. Together, we will create a way of working that feels right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
