About me

I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist providing psychological therapy for individuals with a wide range of difficulties. The Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology course has equipped me with a rigorous training in clinical practice, as well as professional research skills at doctoral level, enabling me to become an effective and competent Practitioner Psychologist.

Counselling psychology deals with a wide range of mental health problems, including; depression, anxiety, self harm, eating disorders, psychosis, personality disorder, negative life events, bereavement, domestic violence, sexual, emotional and physical abuse, traumas and relationship issues. I recognise that we all have problems from time to time and sometimes it might be helpful to talk these through in a safe, non judgmental and confidential place. Counselling/Psychotherapy is a collaborative process working towards the goal of the client. I strongly believe that we are all individuals who respond to difficulties in life very differently, therefore treatment is specifically tailored to meet the need of the individual.

I practice privately in Central Kingston easily accessible by train and bus. Parking is available very close by. Please feel free to call me and leave a message. I am happy to call you back for a 20 minute telephone consultation so we can discuss your needs and decide together the best way forward for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

After completing my BSc degree in Psychology I spent some time travelling around the world. On my return I worked for 14 years in the NHS as a sexual health adviser and HIV counsellor.

During this time I trained at City, University of London on a Doctoral level programme in Counselling Psychology, qualifying me to work utilising a variety of therapeutic models, including; Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. These models are also used together to form an Integrative approach to therapy when needed.

I am currently employed by HCA Healthcare UK working onsite at Google and Bank of America, providing psychological therapy to their employees with a broad range of difficulties, including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and eating disorders. I also practice at The Harley Street Clinic and The Wellington Hospital supporting patients and their families undergoing treatment for cancer and providing psychological support for those during the last stages of their life.

I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also registered with many of the well known health insurance companies including AXA, AVIVA, Cigna, Vitality Health, WPA and Allianz.
