Hello!
I am Sheila, an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. A warm welcome to my page.
I know Life can be quite challenging, whether you are navigating difficult emotions, dealing with life transitions, or seeking guidance in relationships, I am here to help. My goal is to provide a listening ear and a committed support in a safe therapeutic environment to help explore your feelings and thoughts in a non-judgemental way. I am happy to hold your hand through this journey as we uncover possible solutions to your concerns.
I specialise in providing one-on-one counselling services to individuals from different cultures and ethnicities. My training in various modalities such as CBT, Person Centred and Psychodynamic therapies allow me to integrate different ideas, and skills into the session to support my clients. I have experience counselling adults, young adults and children.
My passion for diversity and inclusion informs my practice. Through experiences acquired from working with people with different needs, cultural- backgrounds and in schools, I connect warmly with clients, to make them feel valued and equipped to overcome their challenges and become the best versions of themselves.

Experience
I am a BACP-qualified Counsellor and psychotherapist, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and person-centred Therapy. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a blend of rich ideas, tools and skills from various modalities which I bring into my practice, to meet my client's unique needs
Aside from counselling adults, I have experience and a passion for providing therapy for children- preteens, teens, and young adults in the school setting through techniques such as;

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I offer a complementary 15-minute Initial consultation to discuss your therapy needs and for rapport-building. These sessions are conducted over the phone after which the first assessment session will be arranged. This session will help me identify the most suitable therapy approach that will suit your need.
