About me

Hi, I'm Shane, a ''humanistic therapist in NW1, NW2, NW3, NW6''. I am trained as a ''Person centred pluralistic counsellor/psychotherapist'' and am a registered ''MBACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist''.

Finding a moment for yourself may be difficult, glad to see you were able to arrive and that you’ve made it this far. I feel it’s such a ''brave move'' to reach out for help. As humans I feel we are able to find a strength and resilience which allows us to be the best versions of ourselves, this may mean asking for some guidance, in a warm safe space to explore what’s coming up for you, I'm here to hold whatever you share ''without judgement''.

Training, qualifications & experience

BA(Hons) ''Person-centered / Pluralistic Counselling'',

Upper second class honours' Middlesex university.

Diploma in Person-centered pluralistic counselling, Metanoia institute London.

Sharing my experience studying at the ''Metanoia Institute'' which has a long history in counselling and psychotherapy, within the thorough and in depth teaching has been life-changing and rewarding personally.  I feel if we are able to adjust and adapt then change can be possible.

As a registered MBACP Pychotherapist I abide by their codes of ethics to ensure a place of safety and my ethical responsibility to uphold this. I also enage with a bacp registered supervisor for my own self-care and learning.

Through this continued development I have had the pleasure of sharing the space with an array of multicultural and diverse individuals which has enhanced my awareness and abilities to understand more worldly.

I have also worked for a service providing therapy for the ''LGBTQI+ community'' and for one specializing in providing ''Grief & bereavement therapy''. I have also worked in rehabs supporting people with ''Alcoholism & Addiction and other difficulties'' while witnessing how aftercare continues to support well-being and sobriety in creating a balance for self-care.

You may feel stuck at times within the difficult parts of life that you may not feel able to cope with or make sense of.  I feel within this therapeutic atmosphere together we may be able to help unlock whatever seems very stuck for you but always only at your own pace without pressure. ''I welcome everyone from any background, identity, sexuality and culture''.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
