About me

Hello I am Serena and I run Calm Waters Counselling and Supervision based in my beautiful log cabin, within my tranquil garden in Bishopsteignton, near Teignmouth and Newton Abbot, which is just five minutes off the A380.  I offer a professional counselling and Supervision service where I provide counselling to adults and children over the age of 11. I have over 15 years experience counselling as well as continued study and research.

I also offer Supervision to Counsellors, Nurses, Social Services and Police. I am also happy to come into Organisations for group Supervision. I am also happy to work with trainee Counsellors, offering a discount.

My training and experience is diverse after qualifying 15 years ago. Working within the NHS, Local Children's Centre, The Big Issue, Corporate organisations, local schools and private practice.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I specialise also working with Pain Management with chronic conditions either from accidents or illness.

I also have recently undertaken further training and qualifications with working pregnancies after loss. This also includes peri and post natal anxiety and depression. 

I can also offer Mindfulness training and awareness.

I am also trained and qualified in Business Management and Coaching.


£40.00 per session

One hour sessions are charged at:

£40 for Individuals

£45 for Couples

£60 for 1.5 hour Supervision sessions

£30 for Counselling Students
