About me
Counselling , Psychotherapy and Supervision located centrally in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth and Watford.
Hello, and a very warm welcome. Whatever is troubling you, whatever the stress or anxiety or trauma, let's work together gently and creatively to support your healing and moving forwards. I am an experienced accredited counsellor and psychotherapist and EFT and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner with over 15 years in practice helping and supporting adults. I work either in person from a safe and confidential space in Croxley Green and Rickmansworth, or online. As well as my standard qualifications and professional memberships I also have a Certificate in Cyber Therapy and am a professional member of the Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Online (ACTO) for my online work.
I am also a certified clinical supervisor supervising both trainee and qualified therapists. Please see my supervisor profile for further details.
As an integrative psychotherapist I practice in a warm and client-centred way working holistically and tailoring my skills to match your needs. I am trained in a number of modalities: psychodynamic, humanistic, existential and transpersonal psychotherapies, and work in a variety of creative ways; as well as the traditional 'talking cure', we can work with Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and related energy therapies, IFS (Internal Family Systems), mindfulness and meditation, body and breath work, multi-modal CBT, Gestalt therapy, visualisation, drawing, sand tray therapy and working with your dreams and archetypal material.
Additionally, I am an accredited EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) practitioner, and professional member of EFT International. EFT, also known as tapping, is a scientifically-proven method for releasing emotional blockages from the body's energy system. It is a safe, gentle and effective technique for the healing of trauma, PTSD, phobias and addictions, stress, anxiety and panic, depression, negative belief systems - it benefits most things, and results are usually fast, with improved feelings of calm and wellbeing. In addition, I’m also a Matrix Reimprinting and Matrix Birth Reimprinting practitioner. Utilising EFT and visualisation techniques both these therapies offer an effective way in processing and clearing deep trauma without having to necessarily relive the actual event and risk retraumatisation. They also help to uncover core unconscious negative beliefs and behavioural patterns and transform them. Matrix Birth Reimprinting helps to gently clear trauma and stress that took place at conception, in utero, birth, and the hours and days after being born. It is also potentially helpful for infertility issues, loss of a child, miscarriage, abortion, and adoption.
I integrate EFT and Matrix Reimprinting into my psychotherapy practice and also offer them as stand-alone therapies.
As well as EFT and Matrix Reimprinting for trauma, I also use IFS (Internal Family Systems), and have undergone specific trauma training with Carolyn Spring (formerly PODS: Positive Outcomes for Dissociative Survivors) and am able to see clients through the whole spectrum of trauma and dissociative disorders. I am a DID (dissociative identity disorder) friendly therapist.
First and foremost, our work together is centred on building a relationship where you feel safe and more at ease. This is about your story, about weaving together the narrative of your life; it is you who knows your sorrows and joys, your thoughts and feelings. My role is to understand what life is like for you as we work collaboratively to make sense of your experiences; to help you unearth the inner resources and personal qualities you already possess to cope better and discover new ways of being and relating. Sometimes life’s challenges really do offer unique opportunities for growth.
I very much look forward to working with you.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
Choosing the right therapist is an important part of the process.
If you are interested and think that I can support you then please contact me by phone or email and we can have a preliminary chat (there is no charge for this) to discuss your needs and how we can work together. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. If you feel I am not the right therapist for you - then this absolutely fine.
If we decide to work together I will send you a pre-therapy questionnaire, therapy agreement and GDPR agreement. The pre-therapy questionnaire allows me to get to know a little more about you before our first session and is treated in the strictest confidence. The therapy agreement is a practical guideline for the framework of therapy while the GDPR agreement details how I use and store your personal information.
During our first session we will work collaboratively to address your goals and expectations of therapy and how we are going to work together to get you where you want to be. I often suggest beginning by simply looking at what is happening in your life right now, and everything else, your life story, the big life themes, tend to naturally evolve from this.
Depending on what happens in our first session, I may also introduce other creative ways of working and techniques like EFT.
If this is your first time in therapy and you are feeling understandably nervous and not sure what to expect please be assured that the whole process will happen naturally and will always go at your pace.
You may also decide I am not the right therapist for you, and that is absolutely fine: I will respect any decision you make. Likewise, if I feel I am not the right therapist for you then I will make this clear and suggest other relevant therapists and avenues of help.
The decision to end therapy is always open to you. However, what I do suggest in the case of longer-term therapy is that when an ending has been agreed we spend time working towards this. Our relationship will potentially be a significant one and an important aspect of our work together is to address the ending of the relationship.
