About me
I work with people who feel stuck, unsettled, or dissatisfied in ways that are often difficult to explain. You may find yourself repeating patterns in relationships, struggling with self-doubt, feeling disconnected from yourself, or carrying a sense that something in your life is not quite as you would like it to be.
Sometimes the reason for seeking therapy is clear — anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, or a significant life change. At other times, there is simply a feeling that something needs closer attention and understanding.
My approach is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in the belief that there are reasons we become who we are. Feeling understood is central to the work. Together, we explore the patterns, assumptions, emotional responses, and ways of relating that have developed over time — often as understandable responses to earlier experiences, but which may now feel limiting or costly.
We begin with what is happening in your life now, while gradually developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the ways you have learned to live. This can open up different possibilities for responding to difficulties, making choices, and moving towards a life that feels more fully your own.
I offer a free 30-minute Zoom call so you can ask questions, talk about what has brought you here, and get a sense of whether working together feels right. Finding the right therapeutic relationship matters, and this is a simple, low-pressure way to begin that process.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have seven years of training and clinical experience, and hold a BA in Integrative Counselling and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
I have worked with adults in both short-term and long-term therapy across a range of settings, including private practice, a national charity, and a local low-cost service. This has given me experience working with people from different backgrounds, at different life stages, and with varying degrees of readiness for therapy.
My training is grounded in relational and psychodynamic thinking, with a strong emphasis on attachment, early relationships, and how identity is shaped over time. I work ethically and thoughtfully, adapting my approach to the individual rather than following a fixed model, and I engage in regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Reduced fees are available for trainees and those who are unemployed.

Sessions take place in a private, confidential setting, and I offer both face-to-face and online appointments. You’re welcome to choose the format that feels most comfortable or practical for you, and I’m happy to talk this through during the free 30-minute introductory call if you’re unsure.
Sessions are 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis. Working regularly helps create continuity and allows trust and understanding to develop over time.
My way of working is relational and reflective. Sessions are a place where you don’t need to perform or arrive with clear answers. We take time to stay with what feels important, even when it is unclear or uncomfortable, and work at a pace that allows trust to build.
Many people are surprised by how much there is to explore once they begin. I tend to notice patterns, emotional undercurrents, and moments that might otherwise be passed over, and I will often offer words for experiences that feel difficult to name. Sessions are usually thoughtful, sometimes demanding, and often unexpected in what emerges.
The work often continues beyond the session, not through tasks or techniques, but through what has been noticed, felt, or quietly understood together.
