About me

Hi, my name is Sam and I am an Integrative Counsellor.

I work with adults aged 18+.

What I offer

A warm, friendly, empathetic, confidential, safe space in my very comfortable and stylish counselling office at my home address. Here you will be the focus of our time together.

There are times where we can all use a bit of extra help. If you are struggling, I can be a non-judgemental, compassionate ear to listen and offer you that additional support.

How I work

Being an Integrated counsellor means that I am able to draw from many methods and techniques to find the fit that is best for you.

My only goal is to help you with whatever you are currently experiencing.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Certificate in Integrative Counselling, Accredited by the British Aassociation for Counselling and Psychotherapy
  • Countless hours and training in assisting clients with anxiety, depression and self esteem issues.
  • I personally and professionally have years of experience in different areas of neurodiversity. I myself am dyslexic and have ADHD. I can really empathise  with having a brain that works differently to what is accepted as "normal" and understand what an impact that can have on day to day life.
  • Years of experience with in mental health disorders and how they can effect not only the person who is living with it but, also the loved ones around them.
  • On a personal level as well as professional I have experience with bereavement. Losing a loved one can be utterly soul destroying and life changing and can leave the ones left behind drowning in grief.
  • Many other areas that can cause us distress at different times of our lives.
  • Please see below for areas I can assist you with.
  • Certificate in Working with the Male Psyche.
  • 2 years working as a Counsellor in a GP's practice

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
