About me

My name is Roxanne Haydon, I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and currently working at Hackney Therapy Centre in Hackney and online. Everyone should have the chance to receive therapeutic support. Whether it’s for something specific or you want to make changes in your life in a more general way, integrative therapy and counselling can offer a safe space for you to review your where are currently, explore why you feel this way and where you would like to go next. There are times when everyone needs a little helping hand, periods in life where things can feel tough, daunting, and the world feels hard to navigate. This is why in my practice I will offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to share your inner world where we can explore the thoughts, feelings and emotions that have been causing you distress or difficulty. We live in challenging and difficult times and as part of my practice I make space to acknowledge this too, and work with clients to look at ways of navigating your journey through this.

So many of our thoughts happen without us being fully aware of them. Talking therapy is a great way to allow for some of our inner conscience and processes to be aired and reflected upon, allowing us to understand ourselves better and be more conscious of the decisions we make.  I work using an integrative approach, meaning I draw from various psychotherapy, counselling and coaching approaches using a framework called the Personal Consultancy model. Some of the more known approaches I will be drawing from Person-Centred, Existential, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, DBT and Solution Focused theory among others. Should you wish to also look at more future focused goals, I can also include coaching tools and techniques to help you plan this.

In my practice I will offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to share your inner world where we can explore the thoughts and feelings that have been causing you distress or difficulty. We live in turbulent and unequal times and as part of my practice I make space to acknowledge this too, and work with clients to look at ways of navigating their journey through this. I have experience as a client, counsellor and coach, and as a result of that I know how working with a professional can change the way we think and help you to help yourself further than you once thought possible.

I will work with you on short or long term basis depending on what you need or prefer, with previous clients typically choosing to work with me for a minimum of 12 sessions. We will start by getting to know each other, and specifically giving me a chance to understand what your current situation is. We will then discuss which areas of your life you are keen to explore further. After this, I will support you in agreeing therapy goals and a plan to guide our journey working together. I aim to create an environment where you can find your own solutions and direction.

I am continually evolving and growing my practice with further professional development. I am now offering counselling and coaching at Hackney Therapy Centre in Hackney. It can be hard to make that first booking, which is why I offer a free initial phone consultation, where we can go through any queries you may have before booking.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
