About me
Welcome to The Lamppost Christian Counselling. Come just as you are.
Life is much like a journey through a vast forest; some days are bright and full of adventure, while other seasons can feel like a long, cold winter where we find ourselves lost and alone in the shadows.
The Lamppost stands as a meeting point in the heart of the woods. It is a steady beacon of warmth and light inviting you to pause, catch your breath, and find your bearings.
My counselling service provides a hiding place, a safe, non-judgmental sanctuary to pause, rediscover hope, and meet with God as He guides you home.
Life can feel deeply overwhelming at times, but you do not have to navigate the wilderness alone.
I can support you through a wide range of challenges, including:
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Depression
- Burnout
- Bereavement
- Isolation
- Relationships
- Sexuality
- Self-esteem
- Life-changes
- People-pleasing.
Even if you don't have a clear, defined issue and just have a quiet sense that you are not feeling okay, you are welcome here together, we can figure it out.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified, Integrative Person-Centred creative counsellor, having completed my professional training at ELECT Training in Woodford in 2023. Guided by the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I hold a registered professional membership and am deeply committed to maintaining the highest clinical standards.
My clinical background includes valuable practice with national children's mental health charity Place2Be and local support through The Sunflower Community Project in Harlow. Dedicated to my ongoing professional growth, I frequently participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and local clinical networking.
Specialised training includes:
- I am a qualified Sand Tray therapist.
- Trauma-informed care for neurodivergence.
- Psychological interventions for overcoming loneliness.
- Balancing deep empathy with burnout prevention.
- Encounter in colour - retreat about meeting God through scripture and art.
- Mentor show healing days - what is trauma and how to heal it. Inner child work.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Why choose The Lamppost?
At The Lamppost, we offer a unique opportunity for those who might struggle to explore their feelings and emotions, or to connect with themselves. Our creative approach provides a calm and safe space to help you express yourself and find your own voice on your journey.
"I am not an artist or creative, is this for me?"
Of course! There is absolutely no pressure to work creatively, we are all unique. At The Lamppost, sessions are tailor-made around your preferences and what suits you best. I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you are fully accepted exactly as you are.
