About me
Welcome to Nexus Therapy. I'm Rebecca Hopkins and I’m an integrative therapist.
Taking the first step and looking for a therapist is courageous and can also feel daunting.
As a compassionate counsellor I offer a free 30 minute initial call. This allows us to get to know each other a little, I can explain how I work, you can ask me any questions you may have and see if we’re the right fit.
Finding the right counsellor is key for effective therapy, as it allows true emotional safety and trust to grow. This enables us to explore and process your difficulties, emotions and experiences, at your pace.
In my practice there is a strong focus on supporting; anxiety, relationship issues (intimate, parental, friends, family), work difficulties, low mood/depression, sexual issues, stress, bereavement/loss, anger and abuse.
When feeling lost, stressed, alone or misunderstood it can be overwhelming, impactful and at times, debilitating and all-consuming.
I will take the time to understand your experiences, thoughts and feelings from your perspective, supporting you to process and move towards acceptance and contentment. Due to being in your own thoughts and having your own unique experiences, you know yourself better than anyone else, so my focus is to work collaboratively with you, enabling a safe space where you are heard and understood.
During our confidential sessions you are welcomed to discuss the big things, the small things and anything in between.
I provide a welcoming, respectful and empathic environment at my peaceful therapy room, as well as online. I pride myself on working without judgment to facilitate trust, enabling us to develop a genuine therapeutic relationship that fosters open communication.
It would be a pleasure to meet you so please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
