About me

Hello and welcome to my profile

I'm Bex, a fully qualified BACP registered counsellor offering one-to-one therapy for adults in Bristol and online.

Life can be challenging for all of us at times, and we all need support to get through. Sometimes the things we usually do to cope just aren't enough. And what can make the biggest difference is having someone who will truly listen, help you make sense of things, and walk alongside you as you find your way forward.

How I can support you

I have experience supporting clients with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and overthinking
  • Depression and low mood
  • Processing childhood
  • Identity, including gender identity and neurodivergent experience
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Trauma, including childhood trauma
  • Sexual abuse and assault
  • Sex, kink and intimacy
  • Systemic oppression

People come to therapy for a variety of reasons, whatever is coming up for you, you are welcome and you don't have to face things alone.

My Approach

I am a humanistic integrative practitioner, meaning I draw from a range of therapeutic models rather than following a single approach. What matters most to me is how it feels for you. We work at your pace, in a way that feels right for you.

In a world that can often feel lacking in compassion, my intention is to create a space where compassion and understanding are central, and where you can feel heard, respected, and supported.

I welcome neurodivergent clients and aim to offer a flexible space where different ways of thinking, feeling, and experiencing the world are respected.

I believe that everyone deserves and can benefit from therapy and that everyone has the potential for growth and healing.

I welcome people from the LGBTQIA+ community and aim to offer an inclusive space. I am sex- and kink-positive and conversations about relationship styles, including polyamory, are welcome.

My Practice

I offer a free 30 minute initial phone session to see if I am the right therapist for you.

If you decide to move forward, I offer both short and long term work, depending on what feels right for you.

I practice from home - which is very close to Troopers Hill, Bristol. My practice space is accessible by a flight of stairs

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
