About me

Hello, I’m Rav.

I offer a warm, thoughtful space where you can talk openly and explore what’s happening in your life at your own pace. I work with adults and young people, and I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting. Our first conversation is a chance to talk about what brings you here and whether working together feels right for you.

My approach is integrative and rooted in person-centred counselling. I’ll listen closely to what matters to you and help you explore patterns in your feelings and relationships. We might look at how earlier experiences affect you now, or focus on practical ways to understand and manage what you’re going through. We’ll decide together what feels useful.

My own cultural background helps me understand the complexities of navigating different cultures, identities and family expectations. I recognise how difficult it can feel to balance belonging, tradition and your own needs. While everyone’s experience is different, I offer space to explore what these mean for you, where you can feel heard and accepted without having to leave parts of yourself behind.

I offer short-term and longer-term therapy in person in Farnham and online. Outdoor sessions are also available by arrangement. Pickle, my therapy dog, can join suitable sessions by prior agreement if you would find her presence comforting. This is entirely optional.

If you’re thinking about counselling, you’re welcome to book a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society and am currently undertaking doctoral training in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute.

My qualifications and professional memberships include:

  • Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, Metanoia Institute – doctoral trainee, ongoing
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling, The Open University
  • Diploma of Higher Education in Psychology
  • BACP Certificate of Proficiency
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies
  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy – MBACP
  • Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society – GMBPsS

I have experience providing counselling to adults and young people across private practice, educational, community and online settings.

Within an educational setting, I have supported young people aged 16–19 experiencing anxiety, low mood, academic pressure, bereavement, self-harm, relationship difficulties, family challenges and concerns relating to identity, culture and belonging.

My work with adults has included supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, grief and bereavement, chronic illness and pain, relationship difficulties and endings, people-pleasing, shame, trauma and challenging family relationships.

I have experience helping clients explore how earlier experiences and significant relationships may continue to affect their emotions, beliefs, behaviours and relationships in the present. I work collaboratively and compassionately, helping clients develop greater self-awareness, build resilience and form a more accepting relationship with themselves.

My practice is supported by ongoing academic study, regular clinical supervision, reflective practice and continuing professional development. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework and the professional standards relevant to my training and practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Fees

Additional information

I offer a free initial 20-minute telephone or online consultation so that we can briefly discuss your needs and consider whether working together feels right.

Different fees may apply to specially arranged sessions at Brushwood Sauna or sessions requiring additional time or exclusive use of facilities. Please contact me to discuss fees and pricing for these sessions. Any variation in cost will always be clearly discussed and agreed with you before booking.

Further information

I offer 50-minute counselling sessions from The Eaves in Farnham, online and outdoors in Alice Holt Forest.

Nature is an important part of my therapeutic philosophy. Outdoor sessions can be especially helpful for clients who find sitting face-to-face in a traditional therapy room difficult or who feel calmer and more able to reflect while walking or spending time outside.

Specially arranged nature-based sessions may also be available at Brushwood Sauna, a private woodland wellbeing setting. The format, available facilities, confidentiality considerations and any additional costs will be discussed and agreed before booking.

Pickle, my calm and affectionate Cavapoo × Cockapoo, may accompany suitable outdoor sessions when agreed in advance. Her presence is completely optional, and clients are under no obligation to include her in their therapy.

I offer a free initial 20-minute consultation, giving us an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from therapy and whether working together feels right for you.

Accessibility needs, neurodivergence, cultural considerations and any concerns about attending therapy can be discussed before your first appointment. I welcome enquiries if you are unsure which setting or type of session would suit you best.
