About me
If you’re reading this, something has already shifted enough to make you look. That matters because noticing that something needs to change is usually where change begins, and most people wait far longer than they need to.
Meaningful change, however, rarely happens without deliberate effort and that process looks different for everyone, and we will work at a pace that makes sense for you. It requires developing a clearer view of our patterns and blind spots learning to look at ourselves honestly, with curiosity and compassion but also discernment. Not softening what we find, but not condemning it either. It requires practical skills to respond differently, and the courage to face what we avoid and the consistency to keep showing up especially when progress feels slow and old patterns pull hard. It requires trusting another person enough to share what is actually happening and using that relationship to enact change, not just discuss it. If you are willing to engage honestly and wholeheartedly with the process, I will support you throughout. That is the kind of relationship I aim to offer.
My name is Raluca a registered integrative psychotherapist with over seven years of mental health experience across a variety of settings, including NHS Talking Therapies, specialist inpatient psychiatric care, and private practice. My path to this work has been an unconventional one, and I think that shapes how I practise.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I spent years as a classical musician and teacher, and later worked in the corporate sector. Moving through such distinct worlds the discipline and vulnerability of performance, and the pressures and politics of professional life gave me an unusually broad understanding of the different struggles people face. I think it also gave me a genuine curiosity about human nature that sits at the heart of how I work.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including ADHD, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, depression, bereavement, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, life transitions, work-related stress, sexual or intimacy-related issues, self-harm, personality difficulties, as well as other complex or enduring mental health presentations.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on several evidence-based modalities and tailor the work to the individual rather than applying a single method to everyone.
In practice, this means we might explore how past experiences and, at times, less conscious patterns shape the way you think, feel, and relate to others in the present. We may also work on identifying and shifting unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, while developing practical ways of managing difficult emotions. Alongside this, we can attend to broader questions of meaning, identity, and what you want from your life.
The balance between these different ways of working is guided by what you bring and what feels most helpful at any given point. This flexibility is one of the key strengths of an integrative approach.
