About me

Hello and welcome to my profile

My Speciality Areas

I specialise in male and female sexual difficulties and relationship issues and work with couples and individuals.

Sexual issues may have a physiological and/or psychological cause and include: loss of intimacy, loss of desire, mismatched libidos, orgasm difficulties, erectile dysfunction, premature and delayed ejaculation, vaginismus (vaginal spasm), sexual pain, menopause, sexual phobia and anxiety, lack of confidence and issues with porn use.

Relationship issues include: infidelity, loss of trust, communication difficulties, lack of intimacy/connection, adjusting to change, conflict over specific areas (e.g. finances, hobbies, housework, parenting, whether to have children etc.), stress and anxiety, separation and loss.

How I Work

I work integratively, using a combination of different approaches depending on the client's needs. These include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic and Psychodynamic Therapies.

I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space to talk, either online using Zoom or by phone. I believe in working collaboratively with clients, utilising a combination of talking therapy, behaviour change and practical exercises designed to meet the client's goals.

It takes courage to face and discuss upsetting, personal issues but most people feel a great sense of relief when they take the first step to start tackling their difficulties and begin to see a happier, more fulfilling future ahead.

Appointments

I offer daytime and evening appointments during weekdays.

Appointments are 50 minutes in length and the number required depends on the couple/individual's needs but the majority of clients attend between 4 and 12 appointments.

Training, qualifications & experience

I'm an experienced Relate and NHS trained therapist and previously worked as a Psychosexual (Sex) Therapist in the NHS.

My qualifications include:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Health Education & Promotion
  • Level 5 Diploma in Relationship Therapy
  • ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

I also undertake regular clinical supervision and CPD training to ensure that my knowledge and skills are up-to-date and I am a registered member of The College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), adhering to their Codes of Conduct and Ethical Working guidelines.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
