About us

PCP’s therapy and counselling division is pleased to announce the launch of its new private, self-funded therapy service, expanding on our well-established corporate offering. This service has been developed to meet the growing demand from individuals seeking high-quality, confidential psychological support that is flexible, accessible, and tailored to their personal needs.

At PCP, we understand that life’s challenges can arise at any time and can affect anyone. Whether you are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, work-related pressures, or simply feel the need for space to reflect and talk things through, our private therapy service provides professional support in a safe environment.

Our therapy is delivered by the same team of highly qualified and experienced therapists who provide the well-respected corporate service. We carefully match clients with therapists to ensure the best possible fit, recognising that a strong therapeutic relationship is key to meaningful and lasting change.

Flexibility is central to our private therapy service. We appreciate that busy schedules and work commitments can make it difficult to attend regular appointments during standard office hours. To address this, we offer flexible session times, including a range of day and evening appointments, allowing clients to access therapy at a time that works best for them. Sessions are arranged in a way that supports continuity while also accommodating changing needs and circumstances.  Sessions can be taken in person at PCP’s offices or remotely, depending on the client’s preference.

Our self-funded model gives clients greater choice and autonomy. There are no referrals required, no waiting for authorisations, and no restrictions on the focus or duration of therapy beyond what is clinically appropriate and agreed between client and therapist. This allows individuals to engage in therapy at their own pace and for as long as they find it beneficial.

Confidentiality and professionalism are at the heart of everything we do. PCP has a long-standing reputation for delivering trusted psychological services, and our private therapy offering is underpinned by the same high standards of governance, ethical practice, and care.

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it can also be a powerful investment in your wellbeing. Our team is on hand to answer any questions you may have and to guide you through the process with sensitivity and clarity.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
