About us
Welcome to North of the Tyne: We are a team of three dedicated counsellors who believe that real change happens when you feel truly supported.
Person-First Care: With over 20 years of experience, we moved away from "caseload" culture to focus on the person behind the story. Your well-being is our first priority.
Expert Support: As BACP-registered practitioners, we offer integrative therapy for everyone from age 11 upwards. We also support the professional community through clinical supervision for trainees and qualified therapists.
How to Meet: Whether you prefer the comfort of our North Tyneside office or the convenience of online sessions, we’re here to fit into your life.
Training, qualifications & experience
Our team consists of BACP Registered Counsellors with qualifications including BA (Hons) Counselling, Foundation Degrees in Counselling, a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision, and Mental Health First Aid training.
Collectively, we bring over 12 years of counselling experience across private practice, the NHS and educational settings, supporting adults, young people and individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. We work from a person-centred foundation, integrating a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to ensure counselling is tailored to each individual’s unique needs, experiences and goals.
We have extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, stress, work-related difficulties, life transitions, emotional wellbeing, and neurodiversity, creating a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. Our aim is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, resilience and practical coping strategies, empowering them to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
