About me

I am Dr Nina Memarnia and I provide online therapy for parents in the perinatal period.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a passionate and highly experienced Perinatal Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience and further postgraduate training in Perinatal Clinical Psychology. I am a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society and a Member of the EMDR Association.

I specialise in working with parents and parents-to-be through the perinatal period and am passionate about supporting parents through what can be a transformative and challenging time. It might be that you are experiencing anxiety or low mood in pregnancy or in the post-natal period, perhaps you have experienced a traumatic birth or perinatal losses. I provide a warm, informal and non-judgemental space for us to explore your difficulties and to, together, find ways to move forward.

I draw on a range of approaches, tailored to your specific needs, including CBT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) which is an evidence-based and effective trauma therapy.

For more information about me and how I can help, you can visit my website. I offer a free, 15-minute consultation which will be an opportunity for you to share a bit about some of the difficulties you are experiencing, to ask me any questions you might have and to see if we might be a good fit for therapy.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
