About me
I work with adults and older adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected due to life's heavy pressures. Often facing anxiety, depression, loss, relationship difficulties, or major transitions like role changes, they find old coping strategies no longer work, leaving them exhausted. As a solo practitioner, I offer a stable, compassionate relationship rooted in total acceptance - where real healing begins. Together, we safely explore old patterns, build awareness of what no longer serves you, and foster the self-acceptance and freedom you need to move forward with confidence.
I tailor therapy to your unique self. Together, we look at how your past shapes your present, explore thought patterns, and find deeper meaning. We will gently work through conflicting parts of who you are, sometimes drawing on creative techniques and dreams to access deep feelings. My work is grounded in over 30 years of teaching psychology.
Being human is hard, and being our true, authentic selves can feel even harder. If you are tired of wearing a mask, pleasing others, or carrying your burdens alone, please know you don't have to.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist (PG Dip with Distinction, BACP registered), currently completing my Master’s degree in Psychotherapy. Alongside my private practice, I continue to work with Mind, where I completed a rigorous two-year clinical placement. My therapeutic approach is uniquely enriched by over 30 years of experience teaching psychology. This deep academic foundation allows me to bring advanced theoretical insight into the therapy room, blending clinical expertise with a seasoned ability to demystify complex psychological concepts for my clients.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
