About me

Nicola is an experienced BACP registered counsellor who works with adults, couples and young people at her practice in Sudbury. She offers a safe, confidential space for individuals to explore, understand and work through personal issues.

Online and telephone counselling is available to anyone who cannot access my services face to face. This service is especially important during the Covid-19 outbreak to ensure safe therapy and coaching for all.

Issues I can support clients with include;

With ten years of experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy I have learned many skills to support people on their journey to wellness, personal development and spiritual growth. Whether clients need to recover from mental illness, trauma and loss or wish to improve their success in relationships or career then I can offer a bespoke approach so that each client has the freedom to work in a way which suits their individual needs. As an integrative counsellor, I work holistically by integrating different therapy theories into my practice. In my training I have developed a skills set which includes talking therapy, solution focused therapy, behavioural therapy and therapeutic art.

My own life path to mental wellness and personal development has inspired me to share my findings with others so that they can enjoy the gifts which I have been given in the therapy, training and mentorship I have received. I will not judge you or try to influence you in anyway in our work together, but I will provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore your personal situation and work through issues which may be affecting your life, relationships or behaviour. I offer both long and short term therapy and will work with you at your own pace.

In our initial assessment you will have the opportunity to decide if I am able to meet your individual needs at this time.

I work with clients at my therapy room in Sudbury Suffolk or via Zoom link. If you would like to work with me or ask questions about my services then please get in touch via email or visit my website.

Young People aged 14 and over
Young people under the age of 16 are assessed with an accompanying parent or carer, but it is ultimately the young person who decides if they would like to work with me. I offer young people the opportunity to work through emotional issues, trauma or behavioural difficulties using therapeutic play and art, allowing the them to show me their internal world through symbolism and action rather than words.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
