About me
Life can be challenging sometimes and you may feel overwhelmed by difficult feelings or behaviours. Sometimes you may simply want to understand yourself better, realise your potential or improve your relationships.
I am a professionally qualified and registered Adult and Forensic Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I offer therapy to both individuals and couples. Psychotherapy aims to help you overcome obstacles to make sense of your internal world and feel understood and supported. It could help you to achieve lasting and fulfilling change in relationships with others but also your most important relationship, the one you have with yourself.
In addition, over the last 18 years, I have also worked with vulnerable and marginalised adolescents and adults who have been subject to the criminal justice system, both within the community and prisons as well as psychiatric secure facilities. I have supported individuals, predominantly men, suffering from acute, chronic, and complex trauma, addiction, personality disorders, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I am currently continuing forensic psychotherapy work at the Portman Clinic (formerly the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) alongside private practice, where I also teach and offer reflective practice and clinical supervision to trainees and external forensic organisations. I understand the importance of providing a safe and confidential space to allow clients and teams to explore what may feel uncomfortable.
What I Offer
Living and working in London, which is rich in diversity, I hold a further interest in working with family/partner dynamics, difference, belonging, identity, cultural issues and inter-generational trauma and understanding how these issues can affect people in the course of their everyday life.
I understand that sometimes taking that first step is the hardest one but often the most rewarding in the long-term.
I offer an initial consultation where we can explore your reasons for starting therapy and whether you feel open ended long-term therapy or time limited therapy (12 weeks) may be of use at this juncture in your life. Starting therapy and deciding how long to be in therapy is a deeply personal decision. I’m happy to be led by you / you and your partner, so you feel comfortable exploring what may feel difficult, at your own pace.
I am based in consulting rooms in Victoria, Westminster, in central London as well as offering online therapy nationally in the U.K. and to those based abroad
Unfortunately, I do not offer blended therapy (a mixture of online / in person therapy) unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Please feel free to get in touch, learn more and book an Initial Consultation. I'm looking forward to hearing from you and seeing how we can work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Theory and Practice from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF Therapy) & The University of Roehampton as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Forensic Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the formerly known Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust.
I have extensive experience working with disturbed and traumatised adults and adolescent clients involved in various criminal justice and forensic settings. Alongside private practice, I work in the NHS at the Portman Clinic, a national forensic psychotherapy outpatient service (formerly of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust) where I teach, supervise, run groups and deliver reflective practice in forensic organisations.
I am a registered member of the following organisations:-
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC)
The Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN)

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
