About me

You may have a clear idea of what has led you to search for a therapist, something recent may have happened, or perhaps you sense that something in your life doesn’t feel quite right. Maybe you find yourself caught in the same patterns, feeling scared or stuck, wanting to feel more alive, or hoping to understand yourself better. We can start wherever you are, make sense of what is happening, and explore together what might be shaping your experience.

I am a BACP Registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, offering individual therapy to adults online. My approach brings together different ways of understanding our experiences, with a particular influence from psychodynamic thinking, alongside humanistic, existential and relational approaches. This might involve exploring how past experiences and relationships connect with what is happening in your life now, as well as thinking about how you experience yourself, your relationships and the choices you face. I can also draw upon CBT and more practical approaches where these may be helpful, allowing us to work flexibly depending on you and what you bring to therapy.

At the heart of my practice is the relationship we build together. I am committed to the aim of offering a space where you can feel comfortable bringing whatever is important to you, including thoughts, feelings or parts of yourself that may be difficult to understand or put into words. Together, we can be curious about your experiences and how you relate to yourself and others, at a pace that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have 5 years’ experience working therapeutically with adults, including longer-term counselling and specialist work within gambling addiction. My experience extends beyond addiction, working with people across a broad range of difficulties and life experiences; some examples are: anxiety, low mood, shame, relationship difficulties, loss, significant periods of change & low self-esteem.

I hold an MSc in Psychotherapy & Counselling (Formerly titled ‘Therapeutic Counselling’) from the University of Greenwich, a BACP-accredited professional training programme, and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Neuroscience from the University of Reading. I also hold foundational qualifications in Counselling Studies, and my wider professional training includes Motivational Interviewing, CBT, suicide prevention, Mental Health First Aid and clinical risk management.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
