About me
Talk it through. Make sense of it. Find your way forward.
Life has changed and you're not sure what to do with it.
Sometimes you know exactly what's changed: a relationship ended, the children left home, work got too much, your health changed, a baby's on the way.
Sometimes you can't pin it down. You're anxious, stuck, overthinking, or just not yourself.
Either way, that's enough of a reason to talk.
I'm Nadine, a qualified Counsellor and Therapist in Warrington, supporting adults through anxiety, stress, low confidence, relationship difficulties and the changes and crossroads that life can bring.
A little about me
My own counselling journey began around ten years ago when I was supporting a close family member through cancer. My experience of counselling was life-changing and ultimately led me to retrain as an integrative counsellor and become a volunteer counsellor for Macmillan.
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, particularly if you've never spoken to anyone in this way before. My aim is to make it feel as straightforward, comfortable and down-to-earth as possible.
My approach is thoughtful, practical and tailored to you. I draw on different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside my core person-centred counselling skills.
I keep my work evidence-based without jargon. It's a conversation between two people where you have the space to be heard.
I come from a science background which gives me a natural interest in the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, bodies and experiences, and how these can influence the way we feel and behave.
Perimenopause and menopause
I have a particular interest in menopause counselling, including the emotional and psychological impact of perimenopause and menopause.
Menopause affects more than the person going through it: relationships, family, communication can all feel the impact. I work with people going through it, and with partners and family who want to understand and support them.
What I can help with
I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties and life changes, including:
- Feeling stuck or unsure what comes next
- Major life changes and transitions
- Relationship difficulties and relationship breakdown
- Affairs and betrayal
- Family difficulties
- Empty nest and loneliness
- Cancer and the emotional impact of illness and treatment
- Health anxiety
- Perimenopause and menopause
- Anxiety, stress and overwhelm
- Low confidence and self-esteem
- Depression and low mood
- Burnout and caring responsibilities
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly why you are struggling. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right anymore.
That's enough of a reason to talk.
What does counselling with me look like:
- You don't need the right words or a starting point
- I'll listen, and I won't assume what you need
- I won't judge, and I won't tell you what to do
- I'll be honest, and sometimes I might gently challenge you
- Practical as well as reflective: ways to manage anxiety, overwhelm and overthinking
- We go at your pace
Walk & Talk Therapy in Warrington
Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting in a room.
Walking side by side can feel less intense than sitting face to face. For some people, moving makes it easier to think and to talk.
It might suit you if you:
- find sitting still hard
- don't like eye contact
- feel more like yourself outdoors
- are put off by the idea of a therapy room
- You don't need to be a keen walker. We go at your pace, and we can stop and sit whenever it helps.
How it works:
We agree a time and place
5-minute check-in, then we set off for a total of 50 minutes
We might walk the whole time, or stop and sit for a bit
If it rains, we move indoors in Stockton Heath, or go online
I choose fairly quiet routes. If anyone walks past, we stop talking until they're out of earshot
Sessions
I offer face-to-face counselling in Stockton Heath, Warrington, as well as online and telephone counselling.
Walk & Talk Therapy is available outdoors in Warrington and surrounding areas.
Sessions are 50 minutes and can be weekly or fortnightly.
I offer early morning and daytime appointments, along with some evening availability.
Free 20-minute consultation
Before starting counselling, I offer a free 20-minute consultation.
This is simply an informal conversation where you can tell me a little about what's bringing you to counselling, ask any questions and get a feel for whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
There's no pressure or expectation to book.
Sometimes the hardest part is simply making that first contact.
You don't need to have everything worked out before you do.
Talk it through. Make sense of it. Find your way forward.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
