About me

I work with survivors of family abuse, people navigating family estrangement, and those who feel isolated in their relationships, disconnected from family, lonely, or emotionally exhausted.

I have experience working with the impact of family dynamics, estrangement, and relational trauma, and in how early experiences can shape the way we connect with others. I work with people who have experienced disruption in important relationships and find themselves carrying feelings that can seem difficult to bear alone.

As a queer practitioner, I also have a particular interest in working with LGBTQ+ clients whose experiences of family relationships have been shaped by rejection, conflict, or estrangement.

My approach is grounded in the belief that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a place of understanding, holding, and change. I aim to offer a steady, thoughtful, and non-judgemental space where experiences can be explored gently, and where what feels overwhelming, painful, or difficult to put into words can be shared within a relationship that can bear it with you. My practice is LGBTQ+ and sex worker positive, and I welcome those seeking a respectful and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a Level 4 qualified counsellor and am due to begin an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice at Bath Spa University in September 2026 as part of my ongoing professional development. My training was integrative and underpinned by Clarkson's therapeutic relationship model, and through clinical practice and supervision, I have developed a growing interest in psychodynamic ideas, particularly containment, loss and relational work.

I have experience working both long and short term with adults and young people, including in healthcare settings with people affected by cancer, long-term illness, bereavement and existential anxiety.

I have also completed CPD training with CORST in porn addiction and compulsive sexual behaviour.

I currently work as a volunteer counsellor at the Macmillan Horizon Centre and have also worked in the charity and mental health sectors, supporting people with a wide range of experiences and needs. These roles have deepened my understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and relational work, and reinforced my belief in the importance of offering a steady, reliable and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
