About me

A warm hello and welcome in to Good Space Counselling.  Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me and the way clients and I work collaboratively together. My practice is rooted in warmth, respect, and a genuine curiosity about each person’s unique experience. I have the privilege of working with trans and gender-expansive individuals, neurodivergent clients, and people navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, domestic violence, sexual abuse, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, relationship difficulties, and concerns related to substance use or other addictive behaviours.

I am a registered member of the BACP, The Person Centred Association, and the Pink Therapy directory. I volunteer with Mermaids UK on the support line and hold a level 6 qualification with Accredited training and a First Class Honours Degree in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship from the University of Warwick.

As an integrative counsellor grounded in the person-centred approach, I work with a wide range of clients, including adults and young people from the age of 15. With over 300 hours of supporting trans and nonbinary clients, I am a trans and gender expansive affirmative psychotherapist and specialise in supporting gender-expansive individuals, providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming therapeutic space.

Working with artists is another special area of interest for me, especially with the understanding that therapeutic support tailored specifically for actors is essential. They need a space where their unique challenges are understood — not pathologized or minimized. A space where vulnerability is held safely, where performance isn't demanded, and where the actor can reconnect with their self beyond the role.

My experience enables me to support neurodivergent clients by taking a client-led, autonomy-respecting approach that avoids triggering a perceived loss of control. I am especially mindful that directive therapies like CBT, while helpful in some contexts, may feel invalidating or even harmful to neurodivergent individuals who are not ready or able to engage with such structured methods. Instead, I draw on creative and person-centred modalities that prioritise self-awareness over enforced change, ensuring the therapeutic process aligns with each client’s unique needs and pace.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a fully accredited First Class Bachelor of Arts, with Honours, in Counselling and the Psychotherapeutic Relationship, from the University of Warwick, alongside formal acting training from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Oxford School of Drama, and The Neighbourhood Playhouse School of the Theatre.

In addition, I have undertaken specialist training in Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) with Pink Therapy, as well as Domestic Violence Training through Family Intervention Crisis Services. I currently volunteer on the support line for Mermaids UK.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
