About me
High quality online therapeutic counselling
You are searching a counselling directory for a reason. Something in your life - perhaps many things - no longer quite work. The way you have been living, relating to others, or understanding yourself and your experience may feel stuck or no longer quite right.
Perhaps you have a clear sense of where you want to go and what you need, and you are looking for someone to be alongside you in that journey. Or perhaps that clarity hasn't arrived yet. Maybe there is simply a feeling somewhere inside you that you want something to change. That you want to feel different in your life, but you don't know how.
Sometimes, though, what brings us to therapy is harder to name. You may have a sense that something deeper is going on beneath the difficulties you are experiencing. Perhaps you keep finding yourself asking questions you can't quite answer, or noticing patterns in your life that you want to understand more deeply. You may not even know exactly what you are looking for - only that you want to understand your experience more fully and find a different way of being in your life.
You don't need to arrive to our sessions with everything figured out. Sometimes knowing that something needs to change is enough of a place to begin.
What matters is that there is something you want to understand, explore or change, and that we can create a way of working together that feels right for you.
What happens in our therapy sessions?
What happens in therapy is unique. We build a relationship in a very different way from those in everyday life. From the beginning, I am committed to creating safety and genuine trust between us - not just intellectually, but at the level of your nervous system too.
As trust grows, therapy can become a space to meet different parts of yourself with greater honesty and compassion, and to explore the connections between your thoughts, bodily experience, emotions, relationships and search for meaning.
I believe transformative therapy goes beyond insight alone. What you discover about yourself needs to become something you can feel, live and embody. The aim is not simply to understand yourself better, but to feel more at home in yourself.
There is also room for the deepest psychological, relational, existential or spiritual questions: Who am I? What does my life mean? How am I supposed to live?
Whether these questions are already present or life simply feels overwhelming, therapy can offer space to breathe, think, feel and reconnect with what matters most.

Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I have over a decade of professional, personal and academic experience in spiritual crisis and the integration of destabilising awakening experiences and spiritual psychosis, so naturally, a specialism has emerged here.
However, my work extends beyond the issue you are dealing with, to who you are and what you need. For as research shows (Lambert, 1992) the success of our therapy will depend largely on the relationship we build, and this cannot be predicted by the current difficulties you are facing.
