Maria Yosel Mouzo Insua, Gestalt Psychotherapy Diploma, UKCP accredited
I am an experienced and professionally qualified Individual and Group Gestalt Psychotherapist with many years of experience seeing clients. I am a UKCP accredited clinical member. I have worked in a range of counselling services, have a background in Clinical Psychology and worked in the Mental Health field. Over the last twenty years I have professionally taught and supported children and adolescents with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum disorders as well as their families within schools and in private therapeutic practice in their home environment.
My practice is based in Camden, Kings Cross area, and in Gloucester Road. I offer short, long and open-ended individual therapy.
What I can offer as a Psychotherapist
I describe myself as a relational and embodied Gestalt Therapist. My interest is in exploring how the embodied process of client and therapist impact and co-create both our experiences in order to support the client to develop an awareness of his/her internal world and therefore increase the range of possibilities for choice available to him/her.
As a Gestalt Psychotherapist my aim is to create a safe, confidential and trusted space in which clients can explore whatever they find troubling. The action of seeking and seeing a therapist can be the first step to change (sometimes this in itself creates some of 'the change' needed) and of finding those parts of ourselves we so truly yearn to re-acquaint ourselves with or discover for the very first time.
I endeavour to be an unconditional source of support through empathic listening, a dialogical attitude and attunement to the client's experiences and feelings. Part of what I offer is a finely developed, attuned intuition and a creative approach to healing.
I have experience of supporting a wide range of experiential issues such as depression, anxiety, anorexia, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss and bereavement, Post-traumatic Stress disorder, addiction and alcohol related issues, sexual abuse and many other issues that are part and parcel of our human condition.

Please contact me by mail or phone. If by mail I normally suggest to have a brief phone conversation to discuss availability and any other relevant queries.
The way I practice is to offer an initial session to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you might need and get a sense of whether we can work together and will then offer to start 50 minute weekly sessions.
