About me

Welcome to my profile. I work as a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist in Central and Western Bath, and am registered to work with people aged 18 upwards.

My particular area of professional interest and experience is in working therapeutically with people who are living with chronic disease. However, I am also committed to supporting my clients with all the varied challenges we face as humans, from depression to domestic abuse; from bereavement to the legacy of childhood trauma.

I value my work as a face-to-face therapy. My consulting rooms in Central Bath and Weston are wheelchair accessible. However, I also offer online and telephone sessions. In specific circumstances, I am insured to offer visiting (domiciliary) psychotherapy.

Please do have a look at my website for more information, and all the very best with your search today.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a long background working as a registered general nurse, but in today's NHS, I find that opportunities to forge therapeutic relationships are getting scarcer. However, in my work now as a psychotherapist, this is the essence of our work together.

My training at BCPC was in humanistic and integrative psychotherapy. The 'humanistic' part means that I follow a 'client-centred' approach. In practice, this means that instead of giving you advice, I will support you to make sense of your feelings, come to terms with your past, grow a sense of your self-worth and truly 'become yourself' in time.
The 'integrative' part of my training means that I have studied a range of approaches within psychotherapy, e.g. Gestalt, intersubjective, psychodynamic, and attachment theories. Although I may draw on any of these frameworks in my work with you, I believe our work together is primarily forged as a unique relationship beyond the bounds of any one school of thought.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
