About me
Hi and welcome,
I understand that there has been a lot going on in the world recently and you may have noticed many different emotions rising and have possibly been unsure how to manage these. You may have felt alone at times too, or even had specific feelings increase and want to understand why, hence seeking out a therapist. Or you may have been going through things majority of your life, and have now been able to find the strength to open up and speak about them with someone else.
I work with you to help look at these emotions and understand yourself more, we will start by looking at your past whilst also working with the here and now. Let us work together, let us ease the weight of carrying everything alone, so that you are able to see clearer, and then find the right words to describe and understand yourself, your feelings, your emotions and your behaviours.
As a member of the Global Majority population, I am so involved in providing a therapeutic space for those who are also from the Global Majority community, as for many decades therapy has been a taboo for our communities. However, we are here to change that, as our communities need space to speak on our traumas and our blessings.
I have over 5 years experience working in substance use fields, where I held groups with clients who had a wide range of substances they used. I also have over 6 years experience working 1-2-1 with clients who have a relationship with substances.
I am a Theta Healing practitioner, which means that we can work together on a spiritual platform too, as this can help clear things that you have kept within, that no longer serve a purpose to you, or may not even belong to you. If Theta sounds like an approach you would be intrigued to work with, we will introduce this into sessions, where your whole self will learn to reconnect spiritually.
I also work with those in the LGBTQ+ community and provide a safe welcoming, open space. As although the world is changing, we still are not there in regards to everyone being welcome or safe, within their own homes nor out in public.
I am very big on the fact that our sessions will be tailored to suit YOU as we are all individuals in our processes and bespoke services work best. Although I may have insight and knowledge on certain things, I am not you, so you will be able to share your own experiences with me.
It can be hard to find a counsellor as there are so many of us to choose from, and we all provide something a bit similar, therefore, I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation, where we can get to know each other more and get a feel for the work, then book in our first session.
I hope to provide a space where you can feel safe and comfortable.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am understanding of different cultures, beliefs, and values. I feel race and sexuality in therapy is something that is very important. I have studied and developed my tools in working with clients from the Global Majority and LGBTQ+ communities.
I have over 5 years experience of working with drugs and alcohol in a unique yet successful approach.
We work together so you can learn to heal and gain tools, that help you continue your development of self, by allowing yourself to see the layers that you have built up as protection as these helped you in the past, however, these may not be so fitting now, so we can work on transforming them to best suit the you now.
Let us work together to find what helps you develop.
I work with adults and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
