About me

I am Maiya, and I am trained as an Integrative Counsellor.

The world has changed a lot recently and in this, you may have come across many different emotions, and have possibly been unsure how to manage all these emotions. You may have felt alone at times too. Or even had specific feelings increase and want to understand why, hence seeking out a counsellor.

I work with you to look back at your past, as well as working with the now. This can help you understand some of your feelings and behaviours. I am also a Theta Healing practitioner and will occasionally bring this into a session if requested; this is an Holistic approach where we connect to your whole self spiritually.

Our sessions will be tailored to suit you as we are all individual in our processes.

It can be hard to find a counsellor so i offer a 10-15 minute consultation as this can help you make a decision on whether we are the right fit for each other.

I hope to provide a space where you can feel safe and comfortable.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I am understanding of different cultures, beliefs, and values. I feel race and sexuality in therapy is something that is very important. I have studied and developed my tools in working with clients from multi cultural and LGBTQ+ communities.

We work together so you can learn to heal and gain tools, that help you continue your development of self, by allowing yourself to see the layers that you have built up as protection as these helped you in the past, however, these may not be so fitting now, so we can work on transforming them to best suit the you now.

Let us work together to find what helps you develop.

I work with adults and have an enhanced DBS certificate.
