About me

Hello, I’m Lucy, a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and registered member of the BACP.

I believe that everyone deserves to be deeply understood, not judged or analysed. My role isn’t to offer quick fixes or tell you how to live your life, but to help you make sense of your experiences, understand yourself more fully, reduce your anxiety, and discover why certain patterns keep repeating.

Alongside my psychodynamic training, I have a particular interest and experience in supporting adults with anxiety, Autism and ADHD. I understand that neurodivergence can influence how we experience relationships, emotions, work, self-esteem and everyday life. Whether you have a formal diagnosis, are beginning to question whether you may be neurodivergent, or simply feel that your mind works differently, therapy can provide a space to understand yourself without judgement. I also draw on practical strategies for managing anxiety where these are helpful, alongside deeper therapeutic exploration.

I provide a compassionate and reflective space where we can explore what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we can look at how past experiences may be shaping your present relationships, emotions and sense of self, helping you gain deeper insight, greater self-compassion, and the freedom to make lasting change.

I offer both online and in-person counselling for adults across the UK in a warm, thoughtful and down-to-earth way.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Some arrive feeling overwhelmed, anxious or burnt out. Others find themselves stuck in familiar patterns, struggling in relationships, navigating grief or trauma, recovering from coercive control, or simply recognising that life feels harder than it should. Whatever brings you here, we can work together to help you better understand yourself, build confidence in who you are, and move forward with greater clarity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
