About me
Life can be difficult and painful and there are many reasons why you might be looking for support. I will listen deeply and compassionately, holding a confidential space for you to explore your feelings and thoughts on any issues you bring. I have had the privilege of working with clients who have experienced a range of issues, such as loss, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or trauma and I offer short and long-term therapy. We are complex and unique beings and no one size fits all. Integrative means that I work organically drawing on a diversity of fields. I work in Oxford and Witney.
If you would like to consider working with me, please contact me for an initial session in which we can explore your issues and how we might work together.
Training, qualifications & experience
My core training is in Other Centred Therapy (OCT) based on Buddhist psychology. I also have experience and qualifications in psychodynamic counselling and bereavement support. I adhere to the ethical framework of the BACP and attend regular clinical supervision, ongoing professional development as well as my own therapy to ensure a high standard of working.
I have worked for over twenty years in higher education in the social sciences, which has given me a keen awareness of how power structures shape our lives, including our inner worlds. Beyond the social we are also part of the wider web of life. I am greatly inspired by the healing power of nature and its relevance to the therapeutic process and also offer ecotherapy. In the past I have also volunteered with mental health charities Cruse, Restore and ODAS (Oxford Domestic Abuse Service).

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I am a professional member of the Oxford Therapy and Self-Development Centre (OTS), which is a network of therapists. If my practice is full or if I'm not trained to provide the specialist help you are looking for I can refer you to OTS. OTS is also committed to offering affordable therapeutic support and so if I don't currently have any concessionary rates available I can refer on to other therapists who provide a low cost service.
