About me

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, committed to providing a safe, calm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can feel supported at your own pace. I understand that reaching out for support can be a vulnerable step and I will work alongside you to create an environment where you feel heard, respected and in control of your therapeutic journey.

I work with adults and young people using a pluralistic approach, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic methods to suit your unique needs, experiences and preferences. Some examples are:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Transactional Analysis
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Relaxation and Mindfulness

My approach is grounded in empathy, sensitivity and a deep respect for your lived experience. I take time to build a trusting relationship and work in a collaborative, solution-focused way always adapting my style in response to what feels most helpful for you. You will never be pushed or rushed; instead, we’ll work together with a shared understanding that healing unfolds differently for everyone.

I am fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS check. I am a registered member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and I follow their professional Code of Ethics to ensure your safety and wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

Over the past eight years, I have worked within the NHS across a range of roles, gaining extensive experience in supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of individuals and families. A significant part of my career has involved working with the Children and Young People’s CAMHS Early Help Service, where I provided early intervention and therapeutic support to children, adolescents and their families.

I bring a trauma-informed approach to counselling, grounded in experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse and young people navigating emotional and psychological challenges.

I have supported survivors of domestic abuse through my work with a specialist charity, offering a safe, confidential space where clients could begin to process their experiences, rebuild a sense of safety, and reclaim their voice. This work deepened my understanding of the complex impacts of trauma—how it can affect a person’s body, relationships, confidence, and ability to trust.

In addition, I have worked as a school counsellor across a range of educational settings, supporting children and adolescents through anxiety, low mood, self-harm, identity questions, and difficulties at home or school. I aim to meet every young person with compassion, patience, and a genuine respect for their lived experience. My work with young people is collaborative, creative, and sensitive to developmental needs.

Across all of my work, I hold a deep belief in each person's capacity to heal when met with empathy, safety, and choice. Whether I’m working with children, teens, or adults, I strive to create a non-judgmental, supportive space where people feel seen, heard, and never rushed.

My work has consistently centred around creating safe, trusting relationships, whether with young people navigating emotional distress or with families and professionals supporting them. I understand how trauma, adversity and life stressors can impact behaviour, development, and mental health and I approach each individual and family with empathy, patience, and respect for their lived experience.

In these roles, I offered emotional and practical support, psychoeducation, and a space where children and young people could feel heard and understood. I also worked closely with parents, carers and professionals, fostering collaborative partnerships that prioritised the needs of the young person while promoting resilience and emotional safety within the wider support system.

My time in the NHS has deepened my trauma-informed lens, especially around the importance of early relational support, cultural sensitivity and empowering individuals to make choices that support their healing and growth.
