About me

I am a passionate counsellor - committed and lovingly enjoying this role in my community. I offer dedicated space and attentive presence to anyone searching for healing, answers, challenge, space, understanding and growth. As humans, we have an innate need for connection and free expression. Counselling with me offers a unique opportunity to be with yourself in a true sense, and to invite all the thoughts and feelings that are making life confusing or difficult.

I strongly value and prioritise co-creating an authentic and honest therapeutic relationship with my clients.  I do not operate as a blank and silent observer - I bring energy and genuine interest to our sessions. This is the foundation of any work we will do together. I encourage and welcome the full reality of what you choose to share.  I will hold a space where you can be with all of your emotions without fear, and I will bear the depth of your feeling alongside you so that you know you will leave your session in a safe and present state.

We will approach your individual hopes for counselling with curiosity, compassion and courage. I will work to ensure that you own the power to drive your therapy in the most helpful direction for you. If you feel that you have no idea what to expect or where to even begin, know that you will not walk through any door alone and I will stay alongside you.

There is always potential and hope to be found in every story - the process is unique and distinctive every time.  In this process, my role is to guide, encourage, challenge, explore, empathise and hold a space that is yours.

If you would like to see what this could look like for you, I invite you to reach out to arrange an initial conversation.

I have been trained in a therapeutic approach called Integrative Humanistic counselling. My counselling practice comprises an integration of Humanistic  modalities, underpinned by existential theory and philosophy. I promote a holistic approach to the exploration of the self, and will acknowledge and invite all parts of you along your journey.

I have extensive experience working with children and young people aged 11-35 and across the gender spectrum I work with men, women and transgender/non-binary clients, although I do not offer specialist gender-affirming support at this time.

I offer student discount and receipt of benefits discount in support of my personal philosophy that all in society, including the most vulnerable, has a right to be able to access mental health support. Please ask if you would like to know more about this.

The basis of all my work rests on a relational approach, and a strong ethical focus. All of my training is accredited or recognised by a professional counselling regulatory body and I am always engaged in further learning and development from training offered by highly respected experts in my field in my areas of interest.  I am trained to offer effective counselling online and over the phone as well as in person.

I am most interested in and have in-depth experience working with anxiety, relationships/family issues, autistic clients, tackling shame, attachment and loss in all forms including abortion and estrangement. I have extensive experience working with young people and children. I can support you if you are self-harming or experiencing suicidal ideation, or have a history of either, and we will work together to ensure you are safe while exploring this. Difference between us is welcomed and met with empathy, respect and authenticity.

My experience of working in community/charity organisations have provided opportunities for me to work together with people who live with severe mental health difficulties and reliance on substance use.  If you live with these experiences, we can plan an appropriate way to work together, and I can assist with supporting you with onward or supportive referrals if necessary.
