About me

My aim is to help you work through the difficulties and challenges that may bring you here. I will help you explore what causes these and what may help you to bring about the change you want or need.
Due to my knowledge and personal experiences I aim to connect with you on a deep empathetic level where you will feel safe, valued, listened to and understood.
Training, qualifications & experience
Having trained in integrative therapy, I am able to offer a blend of modalities to suit the individual and their needs.
Although I am an integrative counsellor I believe that Person Centred therapy is the foundation upon which all other effective therapy techniques can be carried out. I believe that it is the relationship between myself as the counsellor and you as the client that is key and that once a trusting relationship is formed, effective work can be carried out.
Empathic understanding, Congruence (genuineness) and Unconditional Positive Regard (Non-Judgemental position) are at the heart of my approach.
I have experience in a wide range of difficulties to include low self esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship breakups, addiction, bereavement and loss.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I offer face to face therapy in my studio at Somali Farm, Birchington along with walk and talk therapy. Sessions via telephone or zoom are also offered if this is your preferred way to connect.
