About me

Hello! I am Louisa, welcome.

“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field. I'll meet you there." Rumi

I am an experienced integrative therapeutic psychotherapist/counsellor helping individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves and recognize their choices.

As a parent of a Special Educational Needs (SEND) child, I understand the challenges and stresses. I offer counselling to parents and carers of SEND children and adolescents, supporting you on this unique journey.

Life can present difficulties and challenges due to various circumstances, complicated relationships, work or home-related issues, or grief and loss. If you are feeling anxious, unhappy, or unsure where to turn, counselling provides an opportunity to explore your concerns and better understand yourself and your emotions. This can lead to increased self-confidence and resilience in life.

I believe that sharing personal stories is a natural human need. Life can become overwhelming due to trauma or inner tension that might be difficult to communicate. Research indicates that discussing these feelings in a confidential therapeutic setting can positively influence neural networks, resulting in a more authentic and fulfilled life.

I believe that central to counselling is the nature of the relationship between therapist and client. I will offer you a caring, non-judgemental, respectful and honest relationship where I can give you the time and space to be heard and understood and through this connection the opportunity to change.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
