About me

Hi, I'm Kim McCullough, MBACP, and founder of Neurokind Counselling Therapies.  I specialise in bereavement and neurodiversity, offering a compassionate and grounded space where you can feel genuinely understood and supported. Grief, loss and navigating a world that isn't always understanding of different ways of thinking can feel overwhelming and isolating.  My aim is to walk along side you at your pace where nothing is too much, too strange or too heavy to bring.

My practice is grounded not only in clinical expertise, but also in lived experience -allowing me to bring empathy, insight and deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. I have a strong foundation in trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming care, I work with individuals, couples and communities to gently explore what healing might look like to them.

Whether you are moving through trauma, navigating grief, feeling overwhelmed or needing a space to breathe and be heard, you'll be met with warmth, understanding and care to support your mental health and wellbeing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I've supported individuals, couples, and groups through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including grief trauma, anxiety, addiction, ADHD, and relationship issues. My practice is grounded in empathy and structure with an integrative approach including evidence-based and Solution focused therapy.

I am experienced in delivering counselling across face-to-face, telephone, and online settings in both short-term and long-term therapy, adapting my approach to meet each clients individual needs with sensitivity and care. Whether in person or remotely.

Beyond direct client work, I've mentored fellow counsellors, facilitated bereavement support groups, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care. I've also provided pastoral support in a creative community setting working with both adults and children, including those with neurodiverse needs and I have spearheaded community projects.
