About me
Hello I am Kate, thank you for looking at my profile. I believe that we are all experts on our own lives but we can sometimes benefit from someone listening attentively and without judgement to how things are and this can help us in finding our way. I work in Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday mornings as well. I have worked for Mind, Samaritans and The Practice MK.
Together we will work to grow your awareness of what is going on for you and how you would like to address the problems in your life. I offer appointments face-to-face as well as Zoom and telephone.
I am an integrative therapist; this means I will work with you in a range of ways to help you to make sense of what is happening for you. Together we can look at how to shape the therapy to your needs; we can explore what is happening in the present and how the past could be affecting how you feel now.
I am also a pre-trial therapist and was trained by the Survivor's Trust.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified integrative counsellor (CPCAB Dip Therapeutic Counselling) and I am committed to ongoing professional development.
I am a pre-trial therapist and was trained by The Survivors Trust.
I am an ACTO accredited telephone and online therapist.
I work with many issues but mainly with trauma as well as adults and young people with autism and ADHD. I also offer couples therapy.
In addition I also work with LGBTQIA+ issues, in particular members of the trans and furry community. I am a kink aware therapist who offers a safe space for everyone.
I have a background of working with addiction both from the point of view of the addict as well as friends and family.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
