About me
I’m Kate, a genuine and compassionate integrative counsellor. I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgmental space for you to unravel the difficulties you are having, enabling you to explore, heal and grow at your own pace. Sessions can take place in person or online.
Talking – It can be hard to talk about our struggles with family and friends, but not talking about the difficult stuff prevents us from being able to actively problem solve, which can leave us feeling stuck. Counselling provides you with a safe and confidential space, to untangle the worries and problems you are having, and find clarity to enable you to move forward in your life.
Engaging – My therapeutic approach is integrative and humanistic, with a belief that every individual has the ability and strength to find the answers within themselves and reach their full potential. Working in an integrative way means I use a variety of approaches and theories to suit your individual needs; shaping our sessions so you get the most out of your time with me.
Personal – The reason I decided to become a counsellor was because I have faced many of my own struggles and am on my own journey of healing. I have a genuine understanding of the impact of living with mental health difficulties, but I also know that with the right support, growth and healing is possible.
As a counsellor I offer to you, empathy and understanding, compassion and a genuine commitment to helping you through the challenges you face.
Therapy can work for everyone but not every counsellor will be the right fit for everyone. The relationship between you and your counsellor is important for you to get the most out of therapy, and so it is ok to seek to find someone that feels right for you as an individual.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

At our initial session, we can talk about what brought you to counselling and what you hope to get out of it. It will also give you the opportunity to see whether you think I am the right counsellor for you.
