About me
My experience
I have been counselling individuals and couples for over 15 years and combine that wealth of expertise with a warm, friendly manner. A really good therapist remains calm, steady and compassionate, no matter what clients throw at them! It takes years to develop that strength.
Starting therapy
I understand that it can be daunting to start therapy, so I make it as comfortable as possible for you. We take it at your pace, I don't push you to talk about anything you don't want to, and I'm alongside you to help. Clients often comment, as they leave their initial consultation with me, that it was much easier to open up than they expected.
If you are feeling unsure about starting therapy or have a single, simple issue to discuss, a single session talk (SST) is a great option. This is a one-off 50-minute session where you are free to discuss anything you like, with no pressure to continue with further sessions. I offer SSTs for individuals and couples.
The vast majority of people who come for an initial consultation choose to continue with me. Clients tend to stay with me long-term, though I'm happy to work short-term if that's what you're looking for.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training
I qualified as anintegrative psychotherapist over 15 years ago, then went on to complete further training in couples counselling and psychosexual therapy.
My approach
The three disciplines that I work in inform and enrich each other. The integrative approach enables me to work deeply; training in couples work gave me particular expertise in relationships; and as a psychosexual therapist, I’ve become skilled in helping clients discuss intimate issues.
Within my integrative framework, I combine:
- cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- psychodynamic theory
- humanistic approaches.
This means I can draw on many different ways of working, adapting my approach to suit each individual client.
My experience
Since qualifying, I worked with individuals and couples at one of London's leading psychotherapy practices. I continue to lead the team of therapists there. That means that if you come for an initial consultation with me and you don't think I'm the right therapist for you, I have a wide choice of colleagues I can refer you to.
I have worked with a really wide range of issues over the years including, but not limited to:
- anxiety
- depression
- relationship problems
- low self-esteem
- bereavement
- trauma
- gender dysphoria
- abuse
- disability
- sexual problems
- work stress
- infidelity
- self-harm
- family problems
- consensual non-monogamy
- confidence
- substance use
- loneliness
- parenting difficulties
- sexual trauma
- shame.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Referrals
If I can’t help you, I probably know someone who can. I manage a large team of therapists with different approaches and specialisms in central London. If I’m not the right fit for you or there isn’t a time we can both do, chances are I can refer you to another therapist who meets your needs. I’ll be happy to pass on my notes from our initial consultation so you needn’t start from scratch.
