About me
Therapy That Meets You - Not the Other Way Around
I offer therapy that’s built around you - your pace, your needs, your voice.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all therapy. I take time to understand who you are beneath the coping strategies, the overthinking, the quiet suffering, or the masks you’ve had to wear. From there, we find the path together. From me, you can expect a space where you can bring your full self, including the parts you hide, compassion, honesty, and collaboration; tools when you need them and stillness when you don’t; and a therapist who is committed to doing the work alongside you.
I really would like you to acknowledge that this is a huge step you’re taking, being here right now, you are on the right path, as asking for help is a courageous step and “owning our story can be hard, but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. More importantly, “loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we’ll ever do”. - Brene Brown.
How I work:
In my practice, we will work together to create a dynamic and therapy best suited to who you are as an individual, tailored around your individual goals and desires. Whether you want to start therapy just to be heard and met with compassion and empathy, to reach your goals, to better understand yourself, to change, or for any of the other infinite multitudes of reasons that make us human. Everyone is welcome; of all different paths, reasons and backgrounds. I aim to deliver a warm and inclusive practice to all. I believe that our emotional life is like a fingerprint, purely distinct and different from every other human being on the planet, so we shouldn’t expect the same methods to work for everyone, given how unique we are, this is why my way of working is through a pluralistic, integrative approach, putting you at the centre, really getting to know you, to then best customise therapy to you, with your input and collaboration being of equal value in our sessions together. I also incorporate coping strategies and psychoeducation into my sessions, to help you understand things better and to feel more in control of life. Over time our sessions will help to bring out the incredible version of you that always has been there, making you more independent and self-governing, with new found life skills and coping strategies and perspective, which will move you closer to where you want to be in life. “One of the greatest prisons you can live in is within your own mind” - Edith Eger, so let’s change that together, in therapy, as “this is where choice happens” - Viktor Frankl. It would be a privilege to accompany you in your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Master’s degree in psychotherapeutic counselling (level 7) as well as a Bachelor's (with Honours) degree in Psychology and Counselling. My Master’s research project was on better supporting clients with chronic conditions in therapy. I have experience in working in the NHS providing short term therapy, as well as for an EAP service and private practice. Prior to becoming a therapist I volunteered for a befriending company with vulnerable elderly individuals and worked in management and sales.
From my current experience of client work, I hold the most extensive experience in working with issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, loss, identity, attachment, relationships, relational difficulties, health anxiety, chronic health conditions and workplace stress. I am however interested in working with clients of all backgrounds/issues.
I have completed additional training in:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Solution-focused brief therapy
- Trauma-Informed Practice
- Somatic Awareness
- Single session therapy training
- Lacanian psychoanalysis and existentialism
Additionally, I am continually learning - I regularly research new therapeutic models, neuroscience, and cultural perspectives to stay flexible and offer the best care I can. As I am very passionate about what I do, I always have further training and therapeutic books to read lined up for myself. Therapy shouldn’t be static; it should grow as you grow.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
