About me

Hi, I’m Julia. If you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood or feeling stuck, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to face it on your own. I offer a calm, thoughtful space where we can explore what’s going on for you and work together to help you feel more in control.

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of concerns, with specialism in anxiety, relationships and ADHD. My approach is collaborative and tailored to you — drawing on a range of therapeutic theories and models to meet your unique needs. I believe that the relationship we build together is key and can offer you space to speak freely without fear of judgement, at your own pace, while being met with curiosity and care.

I believe our relationships — past and present — shape the way we see ourselves and others. Whether you’re dealing with a recent breakup, family conflict, or recurring patterns in your connections with others, we can work together to make sense of these experiences and develop healthier, more fulfilling ways of relating.

I bring lived experience of ADHD to my practice, which means I understand how it can feel to navigate a busy mind, shifting energy levels, and how overwhelming it can feel to manage your mind in a world that doesn’t always make space for difference. Whether you come with a diagnosis, a felt sense, or an ability to relate to the experience of overwhelm, distraction, or emotional intensity at times - my experience brings extra patience, curiosity, and understanding.

I offer face to face and online sessions. Face to face sessions may take place within a confidential and comfortable therapy room or you may wish to have your session outdoors for a “walk and talk” therapy session, which comes with lots of extra benefits of being out in nature.

Please feel free to schedule in a free 15 min consultation via telephone call or drop me an email. I look forward to the opportunity to work together and support you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University.

I have worked in mental health for the past seven years, in varying environments from schools to secure settings and currently volunteer for a local mental health charity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My therapy room is on the second floor, but can be accessed via a lift. There is also ramp access at the entrance of the building. Outdoor sessions take place in a country park, on flat footpaths with no steps.
