About me
I offer a safe, calm, and welcoming environment where you can feel comfortable to talk about anything you want. My approach is grounded in the belief we are a product of both our experiences and our biology. There are many factors to you and your mental health, and through understanding these, you can live a more fulfilling life. Having an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, I use a variety of evidence based approaches rooted in CBT, humanistic, and psychodynamic therapies, which means I tailor my approach to your individual needs. You have the ability to change, heal, and enjoy life more, and by working together we can unlock your potential.
I am a trauma informed practitioner with experience of both a general practice and a service specifically for victim-survivors of sexual abuse.
You are the expert in who you are, and by putting you in the centre of the work we can explore your experiences at a pace you are comfortable with. At times I offer insights, connections with other events in your life, and relevant pieces of psychological theory and research. All of this is in service of your needs and helping you understand yourself better. At times you may disagree with something I say, and that’s absolutely fine. You are your own expert and I respect that. We walk this path together and while I may be your guide, you are the one who walks the path.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience in assisting clients with trauma and the myriad of ways that has impacted their lives. I also have experience in assisting clients with anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relational issues, difficulty making decisions, flashbacks, panic attacks, and cognitive distortions.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Choosing the right therapist is an important decision. I offer a free 15-minute consultation, conducted via phone or video conferencing, to discuss your needs and determine if we are a good fit for working together. This initial conversation provides an opportunity to explore your goals for therapy and how I can support you on your journey.
The first session will mostly be us getting to know one another, agreeing on a way of working together, and discussing your needs and psychotherapy in general. It’s typically a gentler session where you can start the process of unburdening yourself before the more in depth work begins.
