How did I get here?
My journey into mental health and well-being going over 20 years ago when my own child was born family death and with additional needs from. From that pivotal moment, my personal professional development become a quest to better understand how we develop as individuals, and the steps we can take to foster optimal mental health and well-being.
Throughout my career I worked with people across the lifespan, from children as young as three years old to older adults. I've supported individuals facing a range of mental health challenges, from emerging issues to acute conditions including self harming suicidality. This work has been in various settings, including primary education, residential care, and acute inpatient unit for children and young people, and my current role in an NHS acute mental health team for adults.
